"Green” Health Fair Draws Hundreds to Hospital
On Saturday, May 21st, Bellevue Medical Center hosted a health fair with a unique twist. The hospital mixed several green-themed booths and activities in with traditional health fair screenings and information to create the area’s first “Green” Health Fair.
The idea behind the green theme was to promote a healthier community by drawing a connection between environmental health and physical health.
The fair drew more than 200 people to the hospital to participate in a variety of free screenings that measured numerous health indicators including blood pressure, vision, hearing, sun damage, balance, posture, gait, body fat, height and weight.
Children that joined their parents at the health fair enjoyed face painting, sun flower planting, coloring and more.
Bellevue Medical Center plans to make this an annual event and looks forward to an even larger crowd next year.
