If a loved one stumbled over a few words and appeared confused, would you take them to the emergency room, call 911 or assume it’s no big deal? How you act might be the difference between a long term disability and a relatively typical life, if the cause is a stroke. Join neurologist Dr. Pamela Santamaria to learn why some strokes have mild symptoms and how the prognosis changes based on how quickly treatment is sought. Bellevue’s Emergency Medical Response team will also share ways to diagnose a stroke in the field and describe the immediate care stroke victims receive.
